Data Quality Assurance
The Data Quality Assurance (DQA) team is responsible for evaluating and ensuring Scottish Morbidity Record (SMR) datasets are accurate, consistent and comparable across time and between sources. The team also quality assures non-SMR related data, for example, assessing the application of Cancer Waiting Times guidelines.
The DQA team have recently published the National report of findings from the 2015 audit of SMR01 data. You can find it here on the ISD website. We are also currently writing the national report on the quality of SMR04 data which should be ready towards the end of 2016. Upcoming audits include an assessment of quality assurance mechanisms for referral to treatment waiting times at a selection of mainland NHS Health Boards and a national assessment of SMR02 data accuracy in 2017.
